Working With A Charity
We have some exciting news to share in the New Year, and we're so excited that we couldn't help but offer a little snippet of what's to come.
Becoming a mum was a large inspiration for setting up Pattie & Co. for a number of reasons. Finding a way to work independently and from home so that I could be flexible around my son's needs was important, and finding a way to keep muslins in my life may have had something to do with it too! But becoming a mother has instilled a need in me to do something more.
I don't think there are many who would argue that motherhood isn't one of the the most gratifying and yet one of the hardest things a woman can do. From the minute a woman decides to become a parent, there are likely to be several hurdles along the way whether it's during conception, pregnancy, birth or parenting.
Like everyone else, I jumped a few hurdles along the way. After taking almost a year to conceive, our baby survived a threatened miscarriage and following reduduncy during maternity leave, I suffered from Post Natal Anxiety. It all made for a challenging journey into parenthood, though I am grateful because I know I am one of the fortunate ones. For some, those hurdles can be prohibitive, and their chance to parent doesn't arrive when it should.
Starting 1 January 2019, Pattie & Co. will be donating £5 from the sale of each and every Organic Cotton Muslin Swaddle to a very special charity.
We hope that by supporting this charity, Pattie & Co. can help to breakdown some of these hurdles for women on their journey into motherhood. Keep an eye out on the 1st January to find out which charity that is.
